Norman, Oklahoma - William 'Billy' Ray Schmidt of Norman, Oklahoma, died on November 23, 2025, at home. He was born on May 2, 1955, to William Henry Schmidt and Helen Delories Gore in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Billy attended the University of Oklahoma, where he played football. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business and received his CPA license in 1987.

Billy married Barabara 'Bobbie' on May 24,1980. They had three children: Amber C. Browning and husband Steve of Blanchard, Amanda L. Schmidt-Rutledge and Robert of Norman, and William 'Will' Schmidt of Norman.

Billy worked in oil and gas, went into business on his own as a tax accountant, and then became an auditor for Chickasaw Nation at Riverwind. He loved playing golf, listening to music, watching sports, cruising, spending time with his grandkids, playing cards with family and going lunch with friends, especially at Rays BBQ.

Billy is survived by his spouse of 45 years, Bobbie; his three children listed above; grandchildren: Nicolas Schmidt, Addison Browning, Carson Browning, Alex Rutledge, Jacob Rutledge, Scarlett Schmidt, and Sabrina Schmidt; siblings: Sandra Gray and husband Stephen Wolfe of Kaufman, Texas, Debbie Acquavella and husband Frank of Elmore City, OK, Michael Schmidt and wife Jan of Oklahoma City, OK, and David Schmidt and wife Vicki of Elmore City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, from 1:00-4:00pm, with sharing of memories beginning at 3:00pm.
