Wanda Lorene Smith Obituary

OKC, OK - On October 27, 1941, Wanda Lorene Hunter was the second of 7 siblings born to Wan and Lorene Hunter. At around 1:00 this past Tuesday morning, the 12th of May 2026, Wanda Lorene (Hunter) Smith took her last breath of air on earth, closed her eyes and went to sleep. With her very next breath, she opened her eyes and looked into the face of her Lord and Savior. Wanda graduated from Norman High School and attended First Church of the Nazarene in her early years. In her Sophomore year of High School, Wanda began attending a Baptist Church in Norman and while doing so, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. My Big Sister was never afraid to work and it didn't make a difference what type of work it was. She was an expeditor for Allied Van Lines for a number of years. She was the Office Manager for the vending department at the University of Oklahoma for a period of time as well. For a good number of years, she was a manager for Coles Studios in Norman with the primary duty of traveling around the US, taking pictures of military personnel as they completed basic and advanced training. She worked for a portrait studio for years, she also was an office manager for the Oklahoma Regents Offices. She even drove 18 wheelers and was a waitress. She did everything to give to her son, Allen the best life possible.

She lived and served her Lord for the majority of her life and enjoyed sharing God's love with others. She was an active member. She met and married Albert Smith. They had a wonderful 17 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Wan and Lorene Hunter. She also lost an infant son, Jimmy Lee Klinkenbread, as well as four brothers, Kenneth Ray Hunter, Thomas Gerald Hunter, Phillip Dale Hunter, and Charles Allen Hunter. She leaves behind her son, Wan Allen Huntone and wife Donna of Moore; grandson, Robert Wilson and wife Kasey of Washington, OK; grandson, Josh Wilson and wife Bobbie of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson, Anthony Wilson of Derby, KS; grandson, Ryan Wilson of Moore, OK; one sister, Linda Joy Smith and husband Gerald of Bridge Creek, OK; and one brother, Billy "Don" Hunter and his wife Tina of Moore, OK. She also leaves a "special" brother, John Hart. Also left behind are grandchildren, Rook, Kenzleigh, Jayden, Landen, Aspen, Roland, Ayden, Mike, Easton, and Kyan. There are also a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
