Wanda Louise Scott Duncan died June 16 in Midwest City. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Guardian Norman Chapel of Remembrance, Norman. Wanda was born July 27, 1925 in Minco, to Fred and Pearl Scott. Wanda graduated high school in Minco, and she received her bachelor of arts degree at Chapman College in Orange County, Calif., in 1970. She graduated Oklahoma University with a master's of arts in 1973, and went on to get a doctorate of philosophy in 1976. She married Robert L. Duncan, in Oklahoma City April 14, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1999 after 49 years of marriage. Wanda and Robert were a very accomplished writing and film making team, family said. Their body of works include documentary films, television series and 21 books published in seven countries. Television scripts include "Riverboat," "Bonanza," "Have Gun Will Travel," "Lost in Space" and 17 other series. Their later years were spent in Norman, and traveling all over the world. Wanda loved to travel, play bridge, go to museums, movies and theater. She lived a wonderful and long life and she will be missed by her family and friends, family said. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Christopher Scott Duncan; a brother, Virgil Scott; and two sisters, Velma Mote and Margurite Hill. She is survived by her daughter Mary Long of Del City; a granddaughter, Cynthia Long of Del City; two grandsons, Stephen Long of Tuttle and Cedrick Semmions of Del City; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan-Ashley Long, Johnathan Long-Mason of Del City, Stephen Long Jr., Christopher Long, Stephanie Long and Dacoda Long of Tuttle, and Ashley and Logan Tyler Duncan Agar of Harrah; two nieces, Freddie Robertson and Carmen Coronado; and many other family and friends, including Bobbie Foreman of Norman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Children's Home.
