Thomas Walter Paulson, 82, passed away 13 November 2024 at home in Norman, Oklahoma. Tom was born 25 December 1941, in Chicago, Illinois with the surname Plosila. He was a Christian Scientist since 1957. He graduated from Downers Grove High School and attended Purdue University as a freshman. The family moved to Norman when his father died suddenly. He completed a B.S. Electrical Engineering degree in 1965 at the University of Oklahoma where he participated in the Naval ROTC. Tom served in the Navy as Lieutenant in DaNang, Vietnam with an honorable discharge in 1970. He changed his surname, worked for General Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana, earned an OU M.S. degree in Business Administration, studied printing in Los Angeles, worked as a pressman in Oklahoma, and worked as a government auditor in the DFW area. In Norman he opened his own print shop in 1986 on West Lindsey and later Flood Street. Tom was married to Beverly Ann McGahan from 1995-1997. Tom enjoyed religion, dance, sailing, trains, singing, musicals, banjos, organs, player-pianos, running, economics, and classic movies. Tom was predeceased by his father Paul Walter Plosila, mother Helen Mary Bly Plosila, and sister Paula Ann Plosila Pitts. Survivors are his nephew Donald (Jennifer) Pitts of Plano, Texas, niece Susan (Eric) Buschhorn of Houston, Texas and brother-in-law David Eugene Pitts of Houston. A Celebration of Life is planned at the OKC Swing Dance Club at 4361 NW 50th Suite 400 on March 30, 2025, at 2pm. Ashes scattered by the Navy at a later date.
