Norman, Oklahoma - Sylvia Eugenia Sears Danner, 86, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

She was born in Tampa, Florida in December 1938, to Helen Marietta Chiles and Marvin Hugh Sears, Jr. Sylvia led a life of loving and devoted service to her family, church, and community. She was a prolific pageant participant, and was crowned Miss Satellite of Brevard, County, Florida, Theta Chi Dream Girl of the South, Miss Tampa, and Miss Congeniality of the Miss Florida contest.

Sylvia was a champion of many causes including The Great Oklahoma Balloon Race and Air Show of 1983 and 1984, was instrumental in reinstating the OU Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha, and opened her home to multiple exchange students through her membership in Rotary International. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and volunteered her vocal talents in the choir.

Sylvia met the love of her life, Bob, in 1959, and they wed in a blissful ceremony at Cocoa First Methodist Church in the midst of Hurricane Donna in 1960. They shared a happy marriage for 58 years.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Danner; and is survived by her loving sons, Robert Danner and Jeffrey Danner; her sisters, Mary-Helen Sears Foxx, and Sarah Margaret Sears Fulford; her five grandchildren, Sarah, Caroline, Katelyn, Chris, and Sophie; and her four great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Jessa, Julia, and Quinn.

Sylvia will always be remembered for her incredible kindness and unmatched generosity. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. A Celebration of Sylvia's Life will be held at a later date.
