Norman, OK - Sharon Gayle Stone was born September 12, 1942, to Luther Walter Wadley and Nora Oleah (Jones) Wadley, in Norman, OK. Luther Wadley was the pastor of the First Church of God in Norman, and Sharon was a "Preacher's Kid" by birth and by calling. She was a gifted singer and pianist and spent her life proclaiming the gospel through music and word. On Jun 24, 1962, Sharon married Jackson Fred (Jack) Stone, and they celebrated more than 63 years together. Never was a man more devoted to a woman than Jack was to Sharon. Their long love story is a North Star for their family and friends.
Sharon slipped peacefully into the presence of Jesus on February 23, 2025, at her home with Jack in Norman.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Carl Wadley, and her niece Carla Wadley. She is survived by Jack, daughter Jacqueline Stone and her husband Robert Gum of Tuttle, son Kevin Stone and his wife Stefanie of Oklahoma City, and son Kelly Stone and his wife Rhonda, of Norman. She is also survived by granddaughter Olivia (Stone) Jarvis and her husband Carter, grandson Jackson Stone, brand new great-grandson Ford Jackson Jarvis, and by nephew, Terry Wadley, all of Norman. They will forever miss and yearn for her fierce and faithful fire at the center of their lives.
