Robert "Bob" January, 78, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Moore to Alvin and Ella Viola (Lewis) January. Bob was the owner of Bob January Trenching Co., primarily contracting with Southwestern Bell, for 22 years before retiring in 1992. After retirement he spent his time with his family and friends and doing his passion which was using his time and skills to help anyone in need. He also loved to fish, work around his home, watch his grandchildren's activities and do volunteer work at his church. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his generosity, humor, patience and the endless giving of his time and skills to help those in need, they said. He will be greatly missed by all, family said. Bob is survived by his wife, Loretta of the home; two daughters, Linda Bell and husband Charles of Arlington, Texas, and Cheryl Lisle and husband David of Norman; one brother, Kenneth January of Moore; one sister, Betty Hall of Norman; two grandchildren, Chris Hohmann and wife Salli and Kylie Lisle; and four great-grandchildren, Cason, Cole, Carli and Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Kerri Hohmann. Formal visitation will be 2 ? 4 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday at Heartland Harvest Church, 6450 36th Avenue NW, with interment following in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
