Norman, Oklahoma - Raymond Sendelbach, 88, of Norman passed away Friday, October 31, 2025. He was born January 19,1937, in Norman, Oklahoma to Joseph William Sendelbach, Jr. and Elizabeth Jenny (Bruehl) Sendelbach.
He grew up on a dairy farm in Norman, attended school at St. Joseph Catholic School in Norman and graduated high school in 1955. While in high school, he played basketball and baseball. After graduation, he worked at Kunkel Plumbing and City Plumbing, eventually obtaining his journeyman plumbing license. In 1958, he joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard reserves. He served two, three-year services, obtaining specialties of expert rifle marksman and bridge specialist. While working at Kunkel Plumbing, he met his future bride, Marilyn Hansmeyer. They were married on June 23,1962 and were together until Marilyn's passing in 2014. During their life together, they started two businesses, Raymond Sendelbach Plumbing and their cattle ranching and farming operation. The plumbing company was started in December 1975 and currently is still in business today with the second generation working in the business. Raymond's leadership in the plumbing company touched many lives and families. His mentorship toward his employees allowed many of his employees to become licensed plumbers providing quality workmanship. He loved working at his cattle ranches that he would visit daily until he was physically unable to do so anymore. Raymond loved his family and looked forward to his children and grandchildren's visits, which were very often, if not daily. He enjoyed watching baseball, football and basketball games, especially Notre Dame, Oklahoma State University, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Dallas Cowboys football. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn Sendelbach, brother Paul Sendelbach and sister, Betty Standifer and her husband George Standifer. Raymond is survived by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Sendelbach of Norman, his daughter, Sandra Lundmark and husband Brian of Moore, his son Stanley Sendelbach and wife Misty of Noble and four grandchildren, Tanner, Tori and Toni Sendelbach and Sara Lundmark.
The family would like to thank Dema Hansmeyer, Stacey Sandifer, Sheree Morris, Rowena Mandafe and the caregivers from Cornerstone Caregiving for helping Raymond be able to stay in his home in the last few years and days of his life with providing meals, check ins on weekends and caregiving this summer and fall when he came out of the nursing facility or the hospital.
Pallbearers are Tanner Sendelbach, Mike Standifer, Robert Standifer, Clifton Brown, Kevin Meiser and Dale Hartman. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Sendelbach, Timothy Metzler and Jerry Loeffelholz.
The family will be present to receive friends for visitation from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Father Grim, 421 E. Acres Street in Norman with interment following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Norman.
