Randal Clark Chatman (Clark) Obituary
(Randal) Clark Chatman, Sr., of Point Venture, TX, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2020 in Arlington, TX of complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born in Norman, OK on December 7, 1942, where he lived until his mid-thirties before moving to Seattle.
Clark is survived by his loving wife, Cathy (Reisinger) Chatman and his two children, Randy Chatman (with wife Candace (Bowen) Chatman) of Flower Mound, TX, and Jeannie (Chatman) Bowden (with husband Chris Bowden) of Bothell, WA. Clark is also survived by two grandchildren, Cody Chatman of Denton, TX and Taylor Chatman of Oklahoma City, OK and six step-grandchildren, Tiffany (and her husband Mike Clark), Zach, Alex, Josh, Matthew and Maddie Bowden.
Clark's remaining sister, Janey (Chatman) Guest, lives in Roswell, NM with her husband Mike Guest. Clark is also survived by three nieces and six nephews and six great-nieces and three great-nephews.
Clark loved his family and spending time with them and cooking for them. He also loved the outdoors and sports. University of Oklahoma football was ALL important. And he enjoyed, and often excelled at, skiing (both downhill and cross country), fly fishing, skeet shooting, archery, scuba diving and snorkeling, tennis, baseball, banjo, photography, bass fishing, racquet ball, backpacking, hiking, canoeing, golf, and bicycle riding.
He and Cathy spent many years living in the Pacific Northwest, both in Washington and Oregon; and loved the beautiful mountains, streams, lakes, and ocean coasts.
They moved back to Texas in 2001 to be closer to family and enjoyed almost 20 years at lovely Point Venture.
A celebration of Clark's life will be held in late spring in the beautiful Kiamichi Mts. of SE Oklahoma.
Clark will be sorely missed for his big smile, great stories, and great barbecued ribs.
In lieu of flowers, any donations should be sent to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in Clark's honor.
