Peggy Delayne Driskell Davis Obituary

Norman, Oklahoma - On April 27, 2026, Peggy Delayne Driskell/Davis, our beloved mother, grandmother, gaga, sister, aunt and friend passed away at the age of 68. Born on May 18, 1957, to George and Bettye Williamson, she lived a life filled with music, love, and joy that touched everyone around her. The love that she had for her family was unmatched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bettye Williamson, her twin sister, Penny Mikes/Cooper, and her grandchildren, Ryan and Landon Davis.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Davis; her children, Nancy Driskell and her significant other Brandon, Amy Driskell, Johnny Driskell and his wife Raina, Kerry Driskell, Mary Stanley and her husband Carl, Ricky Ricci, Adam Davis and his wife Harli and Matthew and Felicia Davis. She also leaves behind a large and loving legacy through her grandchildren Taylor (David/Dylan), Lane, Chase, Curtis, Cole, Matison (Sanford), Makayla (Cristo), BayLee (Colten), Camden (Jesse), Nash, Jaxon, Payton (Dylan), Paisley, Bella, Charlotte, Kaydance, Paige, Jayda, Shiloh, Ryland, and Kenzie and her great-grandchildren, Easton, Harper, Addison, Avery, Aspen, Kingstyn, Kinslee, Camila, River, Keityn, Colson, Conor and Cora. Her brothers George, Daryl and Jeff Williamson and their children whom she loved as her very own.

She was truly a free spirit, a hippie in her heart and soul, whose life was a constant celebration of music and togetherness. No matter the day, her living room was alive with laughter, dancing, and song. Family gatherings were never complete without "Sugar, Sugar" playing in the background or tears shared over "Imagine." She held a special love for her brothers, often playing "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" as a tribute to their bond. In her final moments here on earth she wanted to sing as a family all of her favorite songs, that alone says enough about who she was.

There was only one other thing that she loved as much as her family, friends and music and that was the Oklahoma City Thunder! There wasn't really many days that you caught her without a Thunder shirt on and she never missed a game!

Everything she did was infused with rhythm, joy, and love. Music wasn't just something she enjoyed, it was part of who she was, and that gift lives on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was the kindest soul, welcoming everyone she met into her home as family. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

In honor of her life, let us carry her spirit throughout our lifetimes, play the music a little louder, dance a little longer, and love each other a little deeper. May we always remember her laughter, her kindness, and the way she made every moment feel like a celebration. Her song may have ended, but its melody will live on in all of us.

A celebration of life will be held June 6th, 2026 from 12:00 - 3:30 at the Rail house Event Center, 102 W. Eufaula St., Norman, Oklahoma 73069. Please wear your Thunder Gear in her honor. Food and drinks will be provided. Bring your dancing shoes and freshen up on your oldies music!

We would like to give a special thanks to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Dr. Tahirkheli (Dr. T as she called him) and the incredible nursing and medical staff for providing such incredible care and treating her as their own with grace and compassion during her final days.
