Noble, OK - Mike Lucas was born to Joseph Celaya and Emogene (Smith) Lucas on March 18, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA. He was later adopted by his step father, Clifford Lucas. He departed this life on July 5, 2025 in Norman, Ok. at the age of 77 years.
Mike made his home in Noble for 46 years moving from Little Axe. He attended Ocean Side High School in California. On December 1, 1966 Mike enlisted into the United States Army, Mike attained the rank of Sergeant E5, and served an extended tour of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded multiple medals and accommodations during his service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Vietnam Service Medal. Mike was Honorably Discharged on July 4, 1969. On July 17, 1970 he married the love of his life Janet Witzleb. They were married for 37 years until her passing in 2007. Mike was employed with Southwestern Bell for over 30 years as a Splicer and line repair specialist. Mike loved riding his motorcycle and dirt bike, listening to good music and spending time outdoors with animals. He was a talented musician and could play many instruments such as the piano, guitar, trumpet and trombone. He enjoyed going to the ocean as often as he could.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet and (2) brothers: John Lucas and Jimmy Celaya. He is survived by his son Michael D. Lucas and wife Lauri of Moore, (2) grandchildren: Lauren Pestinger and husband Matthew and Austin Lucas along with many other relatives and friends.
