Mrs. Marion Rae Coker Obituary

Norman, OK - Marion Rae Coker went to be with Jesus on April 11, 2025, after a short illness.

Marion was born August 16, 1929 in Plainview, Texas. Her parents were Vernie and W.K. McCaskill. She graduated from Plainview High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She received an Associate in Arts degree from Colorado Woman's College in Denver, Colorado, where she was president of her class and active in many campus organizations. She married Joe Coker in Plainview, Texas on August 27, 1949.

In 1957 her family moved to Norman. Marion was involved in numerous activities including; P.E.O., Camp Fire Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Band Parents, the director of Adult Sunday School Class, and many others. During her many years of participating in Boy Scout activities she was affectionately know as "Mrs. C."

Known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Mommi, she was revered and loved by everyone who touched her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Coker the love of her life; and her son-in-law Mike Hilgenfeld. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Ryan of Plainview, Texas; her children, Ken and his wife Ellen of Norman, Susan Hilgenfeld of Norman, Oklahoma, Gregg and his wife Terri of Hoover, Alabama, and Brett and his wife Patti of Allen, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

A private service will be held for Marion under the direction of Tribute Memorial Care.
