Louann Mary Whitman Obituary

Norman, OK - Louann Mary Whitman, 84, peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, surrounded by family. The daughter of Priscilla (Welly) Lamberjack and Harold Lamberjack, she was born in Fostoria, OH in 1942.

The youngest of four children, she grew up in Fostoria, OH, and graduated from St. Wendelin High School in 1960. In 1967 she married Leslie Alvon Whitman, to whom she was married until he passed away in 2015. Following the birth of their daughter, Beth, in 1970 they moved to Ardmore, OK. Their son, Mark, was born in 1976. Louann was a member at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ardmore and volunteered with the women's group and at St. Mary's Thrift Store.

Beginning in the 1980s, Louann worked as a teller at Exchange Bank in Ardmore and retired from BancFirst in Ardmore in 2007. She became great friends with many of her coworkers, and she delighted in keeping up with the lives of her regular customers. When she wasn't working she loved going on daily walks in her neighborhood and chatting with neighbors. She also cherished time at the beach, and the many annual trips to Myrtle Beach with her family from Ohio were some of her happiest memories. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother, or "Nanny," as she was lovingly called, to her five grandsons who have many fond memories of her. In 2023, Louann moved to Norman, OK, to be closer to family.

Louann is survived by her daughter, Beth Noble and her husband, Glenn; her son Mark Whitman and his wife, April; her grandsons Nicholas, Nathan, and Nolan Noble, and Owen and Wyatt Whitman; her sister Mary Ellen Row; her brother John Lamberjack and his children Jenny, Dennis, Jim, and Doc; and nephews Mike Lamberjack and Frank Lamberjack.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Whitman; a baby sister, Annabelle Lamberjack; a brother, Robert Lamberjack, his wife Fannie and their sons Steven, Randy, Duane, and Bill; a sister-in-law Judy Lamberjack; and a brother-in-law, W.B. Row.

The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Nursing home in Norman as well as Good Shepherd Hospice for the loving care they gave Louann during the last year.

A funeral mass will be held at 2pm on Monday, August 10 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ardmore followed by a private burial with the family. Services have been entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
