Norman, Oklahoma - Loneta Louise Peterson Hayes, 89, a long-time resident of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on August 26, 2025. Passionate about learning, she spent over 30 years in the public school system teaching middle school and high school English. She was an incredibly talented and accomplished person pursuing many hobbies, an avid gardener, and a Sooner and Thunder sports enthusiast. She is survived by her children Doneta Hayes, Jeff Hayes, Sheri Barnes and husband Alan, Kevin Hayes and wife Christina. Grandchildren Katie Gee and husband Clint, Jake Hayes, Logan Hayes and wife Rodora, Seth Hayes and wife Maggi, Kali Barnes, Andrea Ayala and husband Brenden, and great grandchildren Gemma and Nora Ayala.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd at 2:00pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman, OK.
