Norman, OK - Lavera Fern Davault Blair Higbee passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 92.
Lavera was born November 26, 1933 in Asher, Oklahoma to Martin Davault and Gertrude (McAlester) Davault. Lavera graduated from Noble High School. She was a self-employed business owner of Blair's Small Engines. Lavera was a member of the First Baptist Church in Noble. Lavera's first husband was Robert Lee Blair, after he passed, she married Laurence Corden "Corky" Higbee in 1995. She loved the outdoors, gardening, crafting, and jewelry making. Lavera was very athletic and played varsity basketball, and fast pitch softball pitcher for Noble. She was known to pitch horseshoes with the best of them! Lavera never met a stranger and was the life of the party. She had enjoyed with Robert many memorable years of entertaining friends, playing and singing country music. After marrying Corky, they raised cattle, chickens and vegetable gardens and spent countless hours chasing Jackson around as a toddler.
Lavera is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Gertrude Davault, husband Robert Lee Blair, husband Laurence "Corky" Higbee, sisters; Yvonne Nemecek, Vida Turman-Lee and husband GH Turman, Jean Phillips and husband Jim, brother; Ralph Davault and wife Norma, Veron Davault and wife Nancy. She is survived by children; Sheila Ritchie and husband Randy of Yukon, Carrie Pickard and husband Randy of Noble, grandchildren; Chris Ritchie and wife Lisa, Nic Ritchie and wife Chandra, Jackson Smith, Lindsey McClennahan and husband Josh, Owen Pickard and wife Kelcie, great grandchildren; Rhett Ritchie, Reven Ritchie, Charlie Ritchie, Jace Ritchie, Raelynn Smith, Parker McClennahan, Hattie McClennahan, Gideon Pickard, Gatlin Pickard, Griffin Pickard, Guthrie Pickard, sister Wanda Danley and husband Bob of Noble and dear friend Vonda Sheperd. Lavera is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Special appreciation to the care given to Lavera by Reminisce Memory Care of Noble and Centric Hospice.
Pallbearers are Chris Ritchie, Nic Ritchie, Jackson Smith, Owen Pickard, Jayme Jones and Travis Danley. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Ritchie, Randy Pickard and Bob Danley.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2025 at Skyridge Freewill Baptist Church, 150 S 48th St., Noble, Oklahoma with Pastor Josh McClennahan officiating.
Interment will follow at Maguire-Fairview Cemetery in Noble, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
