Norman, Oklahoma - Judy Ann (Johnson) Addison, 86, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, at OU Health Medical Center in Oklahoma City—on her 86th birthday.

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Judy grew up in a close-knit family of four children as the second eldest daughter. She often described her childhood as magical and filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her father was 100% Swedish, and Judy treasured the traditions and strong family values of her heritage. She remained devoted to her parents and carried those values of faith, kindness, and family throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Frank Addison; her parents; and her eldest sister, Lou Edler.

She is survived by her younger sister, Susie Eatmon of Tyler, Texas; her younger brother, Jimmy "Baby Brother" Johnson and his wife, Libby, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; her three daughters, Susie McCraw and her husband, John, of Norman, Oklahoma; Penny Brown and her husband, Brad, of California, Maryland; and Marilyn Shadaram and her husband, Eraj, of Fullerton, California; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews who cherished her warmth, encouragement, and steady presence in their lives.

Judy served as a secretary in various schools throughout Norman Public Schools. She took pride in her work, but her greatest strength was her care for students. She consistently noticed those who needed encouragement, kindness, or support, and her compassion left a lasting impact.

Following retirement, Judy treasured her years with Frank, also a retired Norman Public Schools administrator. Their 44-year marriage was built on friendship, laughter, and devotion, and served as an example to their family.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Judy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Norman, where she formed lasting friendships and volunteered in the church clothing closet, providing clothing for anyone who needed a helping hand.

Judy enjoyed working in her yard and proudly mowed her own lawn. She loved breakfast and lunch with friends and maintained lifelong friendships. She especially enjoyed following the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and remained a devoted grandmother throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Norman, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Baby Steps Program through the Junior League of Norman, which provides education and support for high school mothers. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and ability to see the best in others. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful presence touched all who knew her.
