Norman, Oklahoma - Jolene (Stevison) Blancett was born August 29, 1938, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Joe and Lorraine (Karns) Stevison. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1955, and earned her Bachelor degree in Education from Pittsburg State University in 1958. She worked for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, for over twenty years.


Jolene married her high school sweetheart, Gary Lynn Blancett, on August 14, 1960. They had one child, Shelley Lynn Blancett, born in 1966.


Jolene loved all things University of Oklahoma, especially the Sooner football and basketball teams. She was also a fan of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder. She enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong with friends frequently.


Jolene passed from this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, peacefully in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lorraine (Karns) Stevison; and her brother, Larry Stevison. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gary Lynn Blancett of Norman, Oklahoma; and her daughter, Shelley Lynn (Blancett) Nichols of Midland, Texas.


Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
