Jerry Melvin Gentry
Jerry Melvin Gentry was born in Sulphur Oklahoma on April 5, 1939 and passed peacefully at his Norman home on November 11, 2019 under Hospice care. Jerry graduated from Sulphur High School in 1957 and married Betty Lou Byers May 17, 1958. Together they had two sons Chris and Colin.

After thirteen years living
in Dallas, where he worked as a Dallas Police Officer and in a variety of sales positions, the
family settled in Norman in 1973 where he continued sales for Al Salyer Cadillac and Cochran Chemical Company. Jerry taught himself college chemistry in order to analyze oil extraction and injection chemicals.

Determined and with an entrepreneurial
spirit, Jerry had an extensive resume over his career, owning many businesses, including Aladdin Carpet Cleaning, Aladdin Restoration, Aladdin Distributing and Worktools as an (Authorized dealer for Cornwell Quality Tools) all in Norman.

Jerry and Betty enjoyed many
wonderful adventures together in their sixty-one years of marriage and they loved their frequent get-aways at their little lake cabin in Sulphur where they enjoyed fishing and bird watching. Jerry loved to travel, woodworking, carpentry and relaxing with special friends.

Preceded in death by his parents,Courtney and Irbie Gentry,
siblings James Gentry and Kenneth Gentry.

Survivors include wife, Betty;
sons Chris Gentry and his wife, Sylvia of Lakewood CO; granddaughter Christin and her husband Michael,and their children, Michael & Adley of Norman; son Colin Gentry and wife Michale, their children Dylan and Joslyn also of Norman; Ann Earhart of Middleothian, Tx; and Terry Gentry of Nashville
as well as many special nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Services will be held at DeArman Funeral Home in Sulphur Okla. Saturday Nov. 16th 2 PM

Worked for Jerry and Betty for a few years back in the 80's. Loved the Gentry's so much ! Jerry will be missed.
