Noble, Oklahoma - Ida Mae Blair Fowler was born on February 15,1925 in rural Cleveland County, Oklahoma to Fayette & Bessie (Fox) Lee. She was one of 8 children born to the Lee's - 3 boys and 5 girls and was the last to leave this earth for her heavenly home. Ida Mae passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 in Noble, Oklahoma at the age of 96.


Ida Mae married Norman Kenneth "Jack" Blair in July of 1940, they were blessed with 5 children; 3 boys and 2 girls. They raised their family east of Noble and were married just shy of 25 years before "Jack's" passing in June of 1965.

Ida later married Lonnie Fowler in February 1967. They resided in Moore, OK and later moved to Norman where they remained until Lonnie's passing in 1992. During the years following Lonnie's death her beloved dog Gidgett was her constant companion. Ida moved into the Noble Health Care Center three years ago and resided there until her passing.

Ida was employed with TG&Y Stores for over 35 years as the Office Manager and Bookkeeper. She was also instrumental in setting up the business offices in all new TG&Y stores throughout the state of Oklahoma during her years of service. Ida was a devout Christian who loved teaching Sunday School and was a member of CrossPointe Church in Norman. She enjoyed traveling to Eureka Springs to see the Passion Play often and loved listening to Gospel Music. Another one of her great loves was cooking and baking. You never left her house hungry and usually had "to go" container as well. Family gathering were always special to her and she enjoyed spending time with her 15 Grandchildren. Who in turn blessed her with 19 Great-Grand Kids and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren and 2 more due in March of 2022.

Whether she was known to as: Mom, Grandma Fowler or "Miss Ida" she will be greatly missed. She greeted you with a smile, "hidey hunn" and she was always scurrying around to find you something to eat or drink - usually cookies and sweet tea. The gift of hospitality oozed from her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husbands, son; Robert Hiram Blair, grandchildren; Bryan Lee Blair, Kimberly Ann Blair, Cynthia Lea Blair Wilson. Survivors include her children: Jack Allen (Linda) Blair of Stonewall, Verna Mae (Blair)Blair (Glen) of Georgia, Dave (Jan) Blair of Noble, Barbara (Blair) Kirby (Jim) of Noble. 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.
