Gregory "Greg" Lawson Summers Obituary

Norman - Gregory "Greg" Lawson Summers, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on June 19, 2026, in Norman. He was born on October 25, 1951, in Ventura, California, to Harold L. and Lois L. Armstrong Summers of Oklahoma City. He was raised in Midland, TX until his family moved to Oklahoma in 1960. In 1969, he came to Norman to attend the University of Oklahoma and made it his lifelong home.

Greg earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Oklahoma and dedicated 40 years to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's Fisheries Research Laboratory, retiring as Supervisor in 2013. Following retirement, he and his wife, Lynn, fulfilled their dream of ranching by founding Summers Hill Alpacas.

An Eagle Scout and lifelong lover of nature, Greg enjoyed woodworking, building guitars, pottery, reading, and spending time on the ranch. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found great joy in teaching, encouraging, and caring for his family.

Greg is survived by his wife, Lynn; his children, Zac Summers (Jessica), Jake Summers (Laura), Carrie Eldridge, and Leslie Eldridge (Alex Baker); his brother, Doug Summers (Mary Ann); three beloved grandchildren, Bodie, Jude, and Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lois Summers.

Memorial contributions may be made to WildCare Oklahoma or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family wishes for everyone to share fond memories of Greg on his memorial page with Primrose Funeral Service.
