Glenda Cannon (Glenda) Obituary

Oklahoma City, OK - Glenda Cannon was born on May 21, 1948 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Ivy Paul Wood and Vallie Irena Brammer Wood. She passed away on February 2, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77.

Glenda graduated from Lawton High School in 1966 and went on to attend Cameron University. From 1955 to 1957 she lived in Germany while her father was stationed there in the United States Army, an experience she always remembered. She lived in Lawton and Oklahoma City before moving to Norman in 1978, where she made her home for many years.

On August 21, 1967 she married the love of her life, Wayne Cannon. They shared many cherished years together before his passing on August 4, 1984. Glenda's love and devotion to her family defined her life. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose greatest accomplishments were her grandchildren. Through Boy Scouts, sports, and livestock shows, she sacrificed tirelessly for her boys, somehow managing to get each of them to their events, often in different places at the same time. Her strength, determination, and selflessness were lessons to all who knew her.

Glenda loved country western music and all the oldies. She enjoyed collecting pigs and cookbooks, taking road trips, and spending time with her family. She retired from the State of Oklahoma and later spent 16 years with Quality Promotions, a job she truly loved. She was a faithful member of Northeast Baptist Church. Above all, she loved her family and her beloved dog, Digger.

She is survived by her mother, Vallie Wood; her sons, Chris Cannon and his wife Theresa of El Reno, Oklahoma, Matt Cannon and his wife Cindy of Norman, Oklahoma, and Chuck Cannon and his wife Misty of Norman, Oklahoma; her brother, Don Wood and his wife Nancy of Flower Mound, Texas; nine grandchildren, Randy, Clay, Ashley, Kade, Brooke, Colby, Dalton, Zuri, and Luna; five great grandchildren with one on the way; three nieces and three nephews; and her beloved dog, Digger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Cannon; her father, Paul Wood; and her two brothers, Ray Lee Wood and Cecil Paul Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Northeast Baptist Church in Norman with Pastor Ed Sasnett officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Flower Mound Cemetery in Lawton, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
