Gail Lee Pendley
PENDLEY, Gail Lee, age 69, of Norman, OK passed away Friday, September 13, 2019. She was born October 6, 1949 in Portland, ME to William and Frances (Bimson) Knight.

Gail grew up in Portland, Maine. She often reminisced on fond memories of going to the beach with her family and relaxing by the ocean. She loved playing hide & seek, dodgeball, and bowling. She graduating from Deering High School in 1967. At 21 years old she moved to Norman, OK where she worked as a welder for Shaklee Manufacturing.

Gail was very active in her daughters activities and schools she attended. She volunteered at Irving Middle School to eventually become the face of the office at the front desk. She thoroughly enjoyed her job there assisting students and making personal connections with them. She remained in contact with several former students and faculty from Irving over the years since retiring in 2010.

Since her retirement, Gail enjoyed life to the fullest being a fulltime 'Grammie' to her two grandchildren Jocelyn and Bryson. She loved spending time with them every chance she got. They were her motivation to keep fighting cancer.

I so wish I could have been at her service, but I was out of town on a business trip. Gail was a such a sweet person and dear friend to all who knew her. After she beat her third round of cancer, I decided she needed a book about her amazing life. It was such a joy to learn so much more about the parts of her life I knew nothing about and to put it into a book for her and her family to share. Little did any of us know, she'd go through cancer a few more times. During another of those times, she came by to get some Frankincense oil from me to help her with her battle. I'll never forget as I walked her out to her car and said hello to Chuck and Jocelyn, that Chuck commented on the Franki...ncense, saying, "If it was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for us!" I will always remember that wonderful attitude and spirit they share. Love and hugs to the family. You are all blessed to have had such a special lady in your lives. This is one of the photos I snapped while working on her book. She loved her family so much!Read more
