Diana Carole Privett Obituary
Norman, OK - Diana Carole Privett passed away peacefully Wednesday after a long, courageous battle with COPD. She was born at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City to Frances James and Mary Joan Privett. She attended Saint Philip Neri Catholic School in Midwest City, as well as West Junior High and Norman High School.
After graduating in 1974, Diana spent many years working in the restaurant industry, beginning at Pistachio's in Oklahoma City and later moving on to Falcone's and Hemingway's in Denver, Colorado. While living in Denver, she also worked as a model for western apparel companies. A passionate advocate for physical fitness, she taught exercise classes sponsored by the Denver Chamber of Commerce and worked as a personal fitness trainer. In her later years, she lived in Costa Rica, Las Vegas, and Houston, before eventually returning to Norman in the fall of 2022 to be near family and friends.
Even while battling stage 4 COPD after her return to Norman, Diana fiercely maintained her fitness routines. She proudly completed her 500th Pilates class in 2025 and continued attending Body Pump classes as recently as June of this year. She was a devoted member of the Calvary Chapel of Norman.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Debbie Rachel. She is survived by her husband, Charles Olexy of the home; her sister, Dana Guthrie (Steve) of Norman; her brother, Jim Privett (Sheryl) of Magnolia, Texas; and her nephews, Blake Miller, Cory Miller, and James Privett.
The family extends special thanks to Karen, Chris, Lisa, Kent, and Anna for their support during this difficult time, as well as the compassionate staff at Valir Health and the INTEGRIS Health Hospice House.
