Lawton, Oklahoma - Clarice Ann Telford, loving and faith-filled to the end, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2025.
Clarice Ann Schettler was born August 25, 1943, in Sterling, Oklahoma. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help school until 1957. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1961.
Clarice married her high school sweetheart Jack "Doug" Telford March 23, 1963. Clarice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a servant's heart; babysitting children at home for several years, followed by work with pre-school kids in Norman. Later in life, Clarice earned an LPN degree and worked as a nurse in a nursing home for several years.
Clarice was an excellent cook and baker, two things she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved working in the garden and her flower beds. She loved to travel and see new sights with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Jack Douglas Telford, mother Inez Winkler Schettler, father Edward Schettler, mother-in-law Jaunita Grigg Telford, and father-in-law HW Telford.
She is survived by sons: Lynn Telford and his wife Jennifer of Walters, Steve Telford and his wife Karen of Norman, David Telford and his fiancé Sherry Ryan of Tecumseh; daughter: Melissa Nicholas of Yakima Washington; brothers: Kenneth and Billy Jean Schettler, Edwin and Judy Schettler, Leon and Beverly Schettler, Bill and Barbara Schettler, Darryl and Martha Schettler; sisters: Dorothy Burrell, Barbara Hawk, Elizabeth Sanders and Judy Cole; sister in-law: Laura and Donnie Maddox; grandchildren: Zach Telford, Amy Windham, Cara Windham Grissom, Matt Telford, Hunter Telford, Clarissa Telford, Ali Mcintosh, Michael Mcintosh, Jake Telford, Tyler Telford, Addie Nicholas, Ferrin Nicholas, Mariella Nicholas, Cooper Gaskin; and great- grandchildren: Madison, Paisley, Sutton, Trista, Ashlyn, Elizabeth, Harrison.
Funeral service for Clarice Telford will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Letitia Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Kelly and Chaplain Justin Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Letitia Cemetery under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet guests and friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
