Normal, IL - Charles Lawrence Rohrbaugh died July 2, 2025, at his home in Normal, IL. Charles (Chuck) was born February 19, 1945, to Lawrence M. And Doris L. Rohrbaugh, of Norman, OK. He attended University Elementary and High School in Norman. He completed his B.A. degree in Anthropology at the University of Oklahoma. He served in Vietnam as a second Lt. in the army. He then completed his Masters in Anthropology at OU and his PhD. in Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin. He worked for the Oklahoma Archeological Survey for several years, participating in the excavation of Spiro Mounds in Oklahoma. He moved to Normal, IL., where he taught at Illinois State University before establishing his own business as an archeological consultant. In 1978 he married Catherine Yates (b. June 28, 1943, d. May 9, 2008). They had no children. Charles is survived by his sister Lucia Fooshee, brother-in-law Terry Fooshee, nephew R. Eric Fooshee of Edmond, OK; sister Jane Smith, Brother-in-law Dick Smith, of Santa Fe, N.M.; and nephew Jonathan Vickburg, of Winnetka, CA.
