C. Clark Hollingsworth Obituary

Norman, OK - C. Clark Hollingsworth, a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on July 28, 1974, in Norman, Oklahoma to Charles and Cheryl Hollingsworth. He passed away surrounded by the love of family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, dedication, and love.

Clark graduated from Norman High School in 1993 and was president of the class. He attended the University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education, Dec. 1998 with a major GPA of 3.95. Clark began his teaching career at Alcott Middle School, Norman, OK, in January, 1999-May, 2003, where he taught 7th grade math and was teacher of the month three times and Teacher of The Year school finalist in 2003. In August, 2003, Clark began teaching at McKamy Middle School in Flower Mound, Texas and was still teaching algebra until his death. He was the head of the math department and core team leader from 2006-present. Clark dedicated his love of math and learning to his 8th grade students with care, humor, and challenge.

Clark treasured his family and friends. He was loyal to his belief that all were equal. He was helpful and dependable to everyone. Although Clark never married he had a very large family of students, co-workers, and friends. He genuinely enjoyed doing any project or helping someone move. Clark was very creative and loved to have fun.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Gayla Cherese, father, Charles R. Hollingsworth, and aunt Marita McKee. He is survived by Cheryl Hollingsworth (mother), Blake (brother) and wife Angie of Ardmore, nieces Mindy Northcutt and Laura Neal and their families.

Clark enjoyed helping with The Christmas Store of Cleveland County, which was part of his family's life for over 30 years. A donation to that non-profit either on their website or to P.O. Box 256, Norman, OK 73070 would be most appropriate and appreciated.

A celebration of his life will be held on May 23 (come and go) from 11:30-3:00 in the gallery of First Christian Church, 220 South Webster, Norman, OK.
