Norman, OK - Billie Maxine Scott, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on December 16, 1942, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Leta (Geller) Chaney and William Chaney. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and dedication.

In 1962, she married the love of her life, Jerry Scott, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and family. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1964, and taught elementary school for a few years before leaving to start a family. Together Billie and Jerry raised three children: Brett Scott, Greg Scott, and Jennifer Scott Moradi.

Billie dedicated many years of her life to Norman North High School, where she served as a receptionist from the day the school opened until her retirement in May 2009. She was a familiar and welcoming presence to students, staff, and families, known for her kindness and steady support.

Above all, Billie cherished her family. She found great joy in bringing her loved ones together for weekly Saturday dinners. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and she delighted in traveling and creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Scott; her parents, Bill and Skeet Chaney; her brother, Rod Chaney; and her brother- and sister-in-law, John Kreger and Anne Kreger.

Billie is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as her sisters-in-law, Shery French, Sally Scott, and Carol Chaney.

Billie will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the meals she shared, and the love she gave so freely.
