William (Billy)'s Story

Text size

William Lee Attaway was born October 23,1998. To his family and close friends he was Billy. To his mama he was "Son". He was carried away on May 5, 2017, into the arms of a loving and faithful heavenly father. Billy attended Symmes Street Holiness Church. He loved his church and his friends at church. He was loved by his church and his friends at church.
Billy attended Noble Public Schools until his freshman year when he began to home school. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America in Pack and Troop 222. Billy loved being a Boy Scout. He achieved the rank of Life Scout before he left the troop. He was a first year student in the Criminal Justice class at Mid-America Technology Center. He actually for the first time enjoyed going to school. He looked forward to going. He told his mom he wished he didn't have weekends so he could go to school. She considered that a miracle. His mother looked to him for his strength. She never had to take out the trash or lift heavy things. That was his way of taking care of her. He took the place of her step stool. He could reach up get the things on the highest cabinets. She never worried about having someone help her if Billy was around. To Alex he was a hero. Billy could do it. To JW he was a pest and a protector.
Billy was a character. He would plant the ideas and JW would get in trouble for carrying them out. Like the day his mom found JW on top of the car port because Billy put him up there to get the ball and then moved the ladder. Or the time the boys took turns getting in the barrel and rolling down the stairs. He loved guns. He thought he could shoot anything. He found out 150 grams of powder in a muzzle loader packed a pretty good punch. He never complained about it making his shoulder sore but he favored it for a while. He would rather hunt than fish but when he was the only one that caught a fish he wanted everyone to know. His dream was to be the best policeman on the force, have his own K9 and drive a big diesel pick up like his grandpas.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Helen Young. He is survived by his mother, Letha Attaway, his sister, Alexandria Attaway and his cousin/brother, Jonathan Young, all of the home. One aunt and uncle, Wilma and Farren Mize of Noble, one uncle, Rick Young of Noble, as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.
Billy would want you to know he is also survived by his special friend, Katie Bennett.
