Paul Joseph Reeves Jr., 68, of Norman, OK passed away on August 1, 2017 after an extended illness. Born in Greenwood, MS, on February 10, 1949 to Paul Joseph Reeves and Roberta Dickerson Reeves, Paul grew up in the Mississippi Delta in Greenwood. After graduating from Greenwood High School, he attended Mississippi State University and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He received a BBA with an emphasis in accounting. Paul worked in Atlanta for ten years as an Accounting Manager for Texaco, Inc. and Atlanta Automotive Distributors. He served as Vice President of Operations for Bio-Cide International in Norman for 35 years until his retirement in 2016.
In 1971, Paul married Nancy Oakes, with whom he shared two children, Leslie and Brian, and 23 years of marriage. Paul will be remembered as a Southern gentleman with a kind, caring nature and a fun, carefree way of living. When times were tough, Paul could always be counted upon to help his family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, deep sea fishing, water skiing, and camping. At home, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing with his dog, tending to his aquarium, and playing card games. He was an avid OU Sooners fan and supporter of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The most precious thing to Paul was family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. A lifelong lover of music, he could be found on any day listening to his vinyl records. His positive spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
Paul is survived by his children: Leslie Kristen Reeves, Brian Paul Reeves and wife Laura; grandchildren: Toban and August Warner, Josiah, Nathaniel and Samantha Reeves; siblings: Bill Reeves and wife Paula, Gale Landrum, Paula Salamone, Jackie Reeves Watts, and Thomas Reeves. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Joseph Reeves, and his mother, Roberta Reeves Barrentine. His ashes will be scattered over Zion National Park and the ocean at a future date in a celebration of his life.
