Margaret Ann was born on September 11, 1926, to Curtis Alexander Graham and Beulah Mae Graham. She died on January 31, 2017. She had a sister Bettye Barhum, who preceded her in death.
Margaret has two children, Kathy Harrison, Tuttle, and JoAnn Duncan, Stillwater, seven (7) grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Her family lover her and she will be missed. While she doted on her grandchildren immensely, she loved Eastern Star with all her heart.
Sister Margaret was initiated into Carpenter Chapter No. 183 in Sherman, Texas on May 5, 1952 and affiliated with Delta Chapter No. 824 in Texas on March 8, 1957. After several merges along the way, she ended up as a dual member of Ckrlhill Delta Flora Chapter No. 794 in Dallas.
She affiliated with Norman Chapter No. 41 on October 19, 1965 and in 1970 served as our Worthy Matron. In 1972 she served as the District Deputy for District 26. The very next year she served the Oklahoma Grand Chapter as Grand Organist. Her involvement with OES continued and in 1978 through 1988 she held the position of Grand Secretary. At the end of her 10 years of service she was honored with the title Grand Secretary Emeritus. While holding these positions, Sister Margaret still faithfully attended Norman chapter meetings, serving in both appointed and elected offices throughout her years of membership.
In 1997 she took a "break" from Oklahoma and traveled to Texas where she served as Worthy Matron of Bluebonnet Buckner Chapter No. 888 in Dallas.
The turn of the century brought about more Eastern Star honors. In 2002, Sister Margaret received 50-year membership pins from both Texas and Oklahoma. She served as the Grand Representative of Nebraska in Oklahoma from 2003-2005 and in 2008 she was District Deputy for District No. 28. That same year she became a perpetual member of Norman Chapter.
Margaret gave herself to the principles of Eastern Star. She loved the Order and did all she could to promote it. Just last week, as she lay in her hospital bed, she spoke to an aide about joining Eastern Star and gave her a Petition for Membership.
We have truly been blessed by knowing and loving Sister Margaret and shall miss her.
