James "Jim"'s Story

James "Jim" Ray Fox age 74 of Newcastle, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday January 19, 2017 at his home. He was born a twin to sister, Janet Kay on Dec. 7, 1942 in Okla. City. His parents were Charles Bryan Fox and Cloie Edna (Stanley) Fox. Jim grew up a farm boy living in Newcastle. At a young age he learned how to work hard and he continued that same work ethic throughout his life. He graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1960 and while in high school he was a standout athlete in basketball.
On September 1961, Jim joined the U. S. Army and proudly served his country for two years. While in the Army he played basketball, Volleyball and Ping Pong. After being honorably discharged in 1963 he returned home to Oklahoma and began working for Wilson's Foods in OKC. A few years later he started working for ONG, which lead to his life long career. He retired in 2003 as a Senior Field Tech.
On March 7, 1986, Jim married Terri Lex Ann Henage. They made their home in Newcastle where he lived on the family farm. Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed farming wheat and raising cattle. He loved being outdoors, working with his hands and staying busy. He took great pride in his vegetable garden. Up until last year he played softball and competed in Sr. National Softball Tournaments.
Jim had many friends and enjoyed living in the Newcastle community. If you couldn't find him on the farm, he was most likely at Wynne's Feed. He loved his role as Cloie's "Grampa". He was proud of her academic accomplishment and enjoyed watching her play sports.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, C B and Cloie Fox; First wife, Camille Blagg Fox in 1965; Brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lou Fox; Brother-in-law, Tommy Tucker.
He is survived by: Wife, Terri Fox of the home; Daughter, Gina Mitchell and husband Newt of Norman; Sister, Janet Kay Tucker of Newcastle; Granddaughter, Cloie Camille Mitchell of Norman; Special cousin, Dolorus Housh of Newcastle; One nephew, Mike Loveless and wife Kitt of Newcastle; Three nieces, Jana Mahoney of Hawaii; Teri Roy and husband Greg of Rogersville, MD, Sandy Belschner and husband Brent of Moscow, Idaho; And many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Interment will be at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sat. Jan. 21, 2017 from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Royal Family Kids, P.O. Box 6178, Norman, OK 73070.
