Aaron Scott Dye, professional artist and founder of Katakana Studios passed away on September 15th at his home in Portland, OR. Aaron's work was heavily influenced by Japanese culture and his love of nature, both of which were refined by his time abroad in Japan. He graduated from Oregon College of Art and Craft with a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Art in 2013, and opened his studio that same year. He will be remembered for his striking artwork, his heirloom quality furniture, and his kind, loving heart. He is survived by his son Jacob, his life partner, and a large family including father, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, siblings, nephews, nieces, and too many friends to count.
