William "Bill"'s Story
William "Bill" Glen Rogers was born in Texarkana, AR on August 21, 1932 to William Guy and Bessie (Douglas) Rogers. He went to be with God on July 8, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Bill grew up in Oklahoma. He attended high school in Clinton, where he was selected for the All-State football team. He achieved a Social Sciences Degree from USAO in Chickasha, OK.
He served in the United States Air Force from July 1952 until 1962 in the Territory of Hawaii, Spain and several other states. Then in 1962 he joined the United States Army National Guard where he achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. He had a passion for professional military service.
Bill served for many years as a deacon at the Maguire Baptist Church in Noble. He went on several church related mission trips to foreign countries.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia. He is also survived by sons Robert, Michael and wife Debi, James and wife Cindy, Paul and wife Julie. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, LaVerre and William Guy Jr, 3 sisters, Arjaree, Hellen and Florence.
Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed traveling with his family. He loved God, his family and his Country, he had many friends. He was always willing to help others and to give them a hand up. Bill's zest for life was evident in his affection for others and his sense of humor. He was just fun and will be sorely missed.
