Celebration of Life service for Wanda Sue (Hiatt) Scarborough will be held Thursday March 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center, NE, with Pastor Kevin Whitmore officiating. Burial of Ashes will be immediately following services. There will be no visitation.
Wanda Sue (Hiatt) Scarborough, 50, passed away on March 9, 2018, peacefully in her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Fairbury, Nebraska November 29, 1967 to Jerry and Marjorie Zeibig and excitedly adopted by Buzz Hiatt in 1970. She was baptized into the Fairfield Christian Church. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1986. Following Graduation she attended University of Nebraska in Lincoln for three years.
On June 25, 1988 she married Greg Grosshans and to this union 2 Sons were born: Josiah and Luke. After a few years in Kansas City, they made their home in Norman Oklahoma, where she was an active member of the Wildwood Community Church. Along with her many church activities she enjoyed organizing quilting, stamping, and craft groups. Her life revolved around her sons and their activities.
After returning to Nebraska she was employed by Heritage Bank in Hastings NE. for a number of years. During her final years she was employed by Werner Construction. She greatly appreciated all the support received from Werner Construction during this time.
In 2013 Wanda met the love of her life, Randy Scarborough. On March 3, 2018 they committed their Love to one another in front of their friends and family. During their years together Wanda enjoyed singing Karaoke. They enjoyed dancing to Country Music and traveling together.
She also enjoyed being an officer (VP) of the Hastings Quilters Guild. Quilting was a lifelong passion of Wanda's, as was writing, singing, and playing music. Hobbies also included stamping and all types of crafting. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Buzz Hiatt, and her Grandparents, Emery and Eva McNinch, and Laura Hiatt.
She is survived by; her husband, Randy Scarborough; her sons, Luke and Josiah; her beloved dog, Snowball; Mother, Marge Hiatt; mother-in law, Alice Collister; sister, Mona Geiser and husband Wayne; sister, Barb Parsons and husband Kim; brother, Tim Hiatt and wife Mihui; brother-in-law, Marty and wife Tammy; sister-in-law, Nancy and husband John; sister-in-law, Sandy and husband Tim; brother-in-law, Larry; brother-in-law, Fred and wife Susan; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Per Wanda's wishes, memorials will be designated to the Morrison Cancer Center From the Heart Fund.
