THOMAS LOYD MILLION
Thomas Loyd Million passed away quietly on Jan. 9, 2018, at his home in Norman, at the age of 66 years. He was born on Feb. 1, 1951, in McAlester. Tom grew up in McAlester and graduated from McAlester High School in 1969. Following graduation from high school, he attended the University of Oklahoma and received his bachelor's degree in business and marketing in 1973. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonny Steffee Million on June 29, 1974. in McAlester, and they were blessed with four children, Amy, Andrew, Ashley and Adam.
Tom began his banking career at Phoenix Federal Savings and Loan in Muskogee, OK as a loan officer, promoted to branch manager of the Okmulgee office before being promoted to vice president of residential lending at the home office in Muskogee. He had a passion for flying and obtained his pilots license, flying executives to the various branch offices for banking business. He later served as building contractor for Phoenix Federal in Ponca City, OK for the development of two mini malls and convenience stores, as well as building numerous spec homes. He worked for various other financial institutions including president of Kay Grant Savings and Loan in Blackwell, OK, and later as president of Grant Savings Bank in Grove, OK. He retired from banking in 1986 and moved his family to Norman, Ok. Tom worked for Champ Oil company until 1995. Over the next several years, he worked on other various businesses and endeavors. Tom and Bonny divorced in 1987. He spent the past 18 years with his living companion, Clyda Teegerstrom and helped her with the management of her family business, Yellow Cab Company in Norman. Clyda said, the only thing we bickered about was his generosity to their drivers or others needing financial help.
Tom was a successful entrepreneur in many business endeavors who had a passion for all things related to aviation. He owned several aircraft and enjoyed flying his family for pleasure. His legacy has passed on through each of his children.

Tom is survived by his children, Amy Million Brockhaus and Brent, Andrew Million and Jill, and Adam Million and Amanda, all of Norman, and Ashley Million Grizzle and Mike, of Glen Burnie, Maryland; grandchildren, Hayden, Carson and Emma Grizzle, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Zander Million and twins, Kathryn and Elisabeth Brockhaus, Cash, Bentley and Spencer Million, and Hadley and Cannon Million, all of Norman; his living companion of 18 years, Clyda Teegerstrom, of Norman, and her son, Zac and Lacy Teegerstrom, and children, Noah and Hinley, of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Paul T. Million III and Janet Manos, of McAlester; sisters, Linda Million Verebelyi and Ernie, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Holly Million and Melanie Million Gee, both of Oklahoma City; the mother of his children, Bonny Steffee Million, of Norman, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul T. Million Jr. and JaNell (Clemens) Million, and John Edward Smallwood; grandparents, Loyd Bickford and Katherine (Lawmaster) Clemens, Paul T. Million Sr. and Edwina (Bradley) Million, and Ernest and Bessie (Hilling) Smallwood, all of McAlester; nephew, Michael Verebelyi, of Houston, Texas, and brother-in-law, Mathew Gee of Oklahoma City.
Toms children have planned a Gathering and Celebration of Toms Life on Wednesday, January 17 from 6:30-8:00 pm with family and close friends at The Railhouse, 102 W Eufaula St, Norman, OK.
