Thomas's Story

Text size

Tommy Lamb, 59, of Norman passed away January 6, 2018. He was born April 22, 1958 in Santa Paula, California to Bobby Wilbur Lamb and Shirley Ann (Satterfield) Lamb.
Tommy grew up in Whittier, California and in Oklahoma City. He was an incredibly self-reliant individual who knew how to do almost anything with his hands. He built his own successful concrete contracting business, serving clients in both California and Oklahoma, designing swimming pools and managing municipal projects. For the last six years he was an employee and superintendent for Rudy Construction. He took great pleasure in spending time with his family and grandchildren, playing guitar with his son, following L.A. Kings hockey and OU Sooners football, and practicing the fine art of outdoor barbecue. Tommy was a selfless individual who always put others before himself. He was a loyal and loving partner to his wife, Shannon. Tommy and Shannon enjoyed spending time at the property they built together at Lake of the Arbuckles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter Trena Loree.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Shannon; his children, Thomas James Lamb II (and his wife, Leigha Lamb) of Midwest City, Brandy McGarvey (and her husband, Jake McGarvey) of Riverside, California; his stepchildren, Kalyn Dabney and Aiden Hicks (of the home); his siblings Linda Bowman of Oklahoma City, Steve Lamb (and his wife, Raelyn Lamb) of Norman, and Kerry Lamb of Norman; and grandchildren Makayla, Jacob, Mia, Madison, Makenzie, Jayden, Damian, Lilly and Moses; as well as aunts, uncles, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will hold a memorial and celebration of Tommys life at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.
