Stanley Lynn Hall

November 18, 1937 - August 25, 2018

Heaven gained Stanley Lynn Hall on August 25, 2018. Stan took up residence in this world eighty years ago in Anadarko, Oklahoma, where he was born to William Stanley and Rubey Della (Cook) Hall on November 18, 1937. Stan had the privilege of growing up with the same close friends in a school where he excelled in all he undertook, graduating with honors as Valedictorian of his class. Next came the University of Oklahoma where Stan was a member of the ROTC. He graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Business Degree With Distinction. Following graduation Stan began a two-year tour of duty in the United States Army at Fort Ord, California. The assignment there included work with Artillery, the Corp of Engineers, and the CDECK experimental group.

Returning to Norman, Oklahoma in 1964 after fulfilling his obligation to the U.S. Army, Stan began his business career as a CPA with Arthur Anderson & Co. He left that firm in 1974 to join Mike McIntosh and Bob Murrell in founding the accounting firm, Murrell, Hall & McIntosh, where Stan was the auditing manager until his retirement. After 32 years at MHM Stan retired to spend more time with his family and to enjoy his life-long hobby of model trains, as well as working with the real trains at the Railway Museum in Oklahoma City. Stan was one of the founding fathers of the Santa Fe Modelers Association, now known as The Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modelers Society. He also served for eight years on the board of the Oklahoma Railway Museum as president, and spent countless hours helping others to make the museum a place for families to enjoy and to experience the important role that railroads played in this countrys history.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, William Ray Hall.

Stan is survived by his wife, Polly Hall of the home, and his three children: Holly L. Schmidt and her husband Rick of Purcell, OK; Greg G. Hall and his wife Brenda of Norman, OK; and Heidi R. LaChance and her husband John of Orange, TX.

Stan was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren: Ashley Hall LaGace and her husband Jake Self of Lexington, OK; Stephanie Schmidt Harvey and her husband Marvin of Purcell, OK; Shannon Hall Rogers and her husband Scott of Midwest City, OK; Sarah Smoot of Dallas, TX; Logan LaChance of Round Rock, TX; Nathan Schmidt of Dallas, TX; and Schaeffer Schmidt and his wife Bethnee of Pauls Valley, OK. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Gage LaGace, Cal Rogers, and Elizabeth Harvey.

Stan is also survived by his three brothers: Roger Hall and wife Olga of Phoenix, AZ; Kent Hall and wife Mary, of Wake Forest, NC; and Gene Hall and wife Margaret of Albuquerque, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stan will be laid to rest at Warren Cemetery in Norman, OK in a private family gathering. A celebration of life will be held at the Oklahoma Railway Museum in Oklahoma City on October 14, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm for friends and family to celebrate his life (casual dress).

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Stans name to the Oklahoma Railway Museum (3400 NE Grand Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73111).

Stans family has entrusted his care to Tribute Memorial Care in Norman (405.292.4787). Please share condolences and memories of Stan at www.tribute.care.
