Robert Steve Herring


Robert Steve Herring Jr., 55 of Noble passed away on February 28, 2017 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on February 7, 1962 to Robert Steve Herring Sr. and Joy Janell (LaValley) Herring. He graduated in 1980 from Norman High School. Chip married his love, Vickie Brooks on December 17, 2005 in Norman, Oklahoma. He worked for Total Truck and Trailer in Norman as a salesman. Learning the love of being an outdoorsman from his dad, Chip enjoyed fishing. Chip could build anything and enjoyed the process of putting all the pieces together. Chip was an active member of the Norman Moose Lodge. He served one term as Governor and he was a Moose Legend Member. Preceding him in death are his parents, Robert Herring (2014) and Joy Herring (2011). Survivors include his wife, Vickie of the home, step-children Shannon Cockburn and Melonie Cole and husband Bryan, grandchildren Camryn Cockburn, Barrett Cole and Shayden Cole, sister Brenda Paylor and husband Art of Olathe, Kansas, uncle Gary LaValley of Holdenville, aunts Sharon Tate of Oklahoma City and Loretta Bennett of Austin, Texas, sisters-in-law Debbie Helm and Deana Ayers both of Durant, nieces and nephews Arthur Paylor and wife Renata, Lindsay Bell and husband Greg, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service has been scheduled for 2:00PM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the East Main Church of Christ in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Casey LaValley will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Bryan Cole, Art Paylor, Arthur Paylor, Greg Bell, Alex Barr and DeWayne Williams. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery.
