Patsy's Story

Patsy Standard Klingstedt passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1933 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City and attended the then named Oklahoma A&M, where she met and married her soulmate and love of her life, John Paul Klingstedt. After graduating with a business degree, Patsy moved with John and their infant daughter to Dallas, Texas. There she raised three children, was very active in the Dallas Garden Club, and helped to establish La Prada Presbyterian Church. Relocating to Norman, Oklahoma in 1969, she became active in the 1st Presbyterian Church and served as deacon and was active in the Cursillo community. She received a Masters in Business Education from the University of Oklahoma. Patsy is preceded in death by her beloved husband John and her parents Floyd & Lila Standard. She is survived by her children, Janet Collinsworth and her husband BJ; Linda Sloan; and John Paul Klingstedt, Jr and his wife Libby; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 with services following at 11:00 a.m., Saturday June 24, 2017 at 1st Presbyterian Church in Norman, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church of Norman, in honor of the life and service of Patsy Klingstedt.
