Text size

On November 20, 2017, Pamela "Penny" Nicholson passed away at her home in Norman, Oklahoma. She was 65 years old.

Penny was born to Lois and William Richardson in Marshfield, Wisconsin on July 21, 1952. She grew up in Waupun, Wisconsin and attended Waupun High School graduating in 1971. Growing up Penny enjoyed music; she learned to play the clarinet, piano, and guitar. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Waupun. Penny married shortly after high school and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where she had her first daughter Rebecca and son Benjamin. A few years later she moved to Norman, Oklahoma where she had her second daughter Sarah. Penny attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied English. She worked for the Cleveland County District Attorney's office as the administrative secretary to the district attorney. After retirement, Penny developed a passion for sewing and created many beautiful outfits, stuffed animals, purses and quilts. Her last true love was Edwina, her rescued pit bull terrier. Together they enjoyed sharing many long walks and time snuggling on the couch.

Although medical science helped to prolong Penny's life for almost a year, it could not cure her lung cancer. Penny never smoked and was always against smoking. Her family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.

Penny is survived by her husband Ronald Nicholson; her daughter Rebecca Davis and her husband Donny, and daughter Sarah Janco and her husband Steven; two grandchildren Joshua Davis and Abigail Stubblefield, and her brother Bradford Richardson and wife Terry of Monroe, WI.

She is preceded in death by her son Benjamin; father William Richardson and mother Lois Richardson-Johnson.

A reception to honor Penny will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Riverchase addition clubhouse located at 1114 Riviera Dr., Norman, OK 73072.
