Opal Lee Clifton, 87, of Norman, OK passed away May 4, 2019. She was born November 7, 1931 to Arvil ad Inis Allensworth in Wickliffe, KY. After graduating from high school in 1950 she moved to Washington DC and went to work the FBI, where she met the love of her life Herbert Clifton. They moved to Oklahoma in 1969. Opal enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and fishing. Opal also enjoyed crocheting, going to church, going to the potluck dinners at church and playing Canasta. Opal liked going to Lake Texoma to their cottage and picking blackberries and pecans. She is survived by her daughter, Allegra "Ann" Woodrow and husband, Kenneth "Woody"; son, James Herbert Clifton and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Amy Kerr and husband, Sydney, Kenneth "Tank" Clifton Woodrow and wife, Jennifer, and James Clifton and wife, Bethany; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Kerr, Quinn Gilchrist, Brooks Woodrow, and Aloy Clifton; sister, Judi Pennington; brother, William Don Allensworth and wife, Jean; a host of nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arvil James and Inis Allensworth; husband, Herbert Durden Clifton; 2 brothers, Arvil James Allensworth, Jr and Troy Allensworth. The family would like to give thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice and Grace Living Center staff for the kind and compassionate care. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Goodrich Memorial United Church, Norman, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
