Merle Kriz I Merle Kriz I, 70, of Tribbey, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 in Oklahoma City.

He was born August 29, 1947 in Choctaw, Oklahoma to George Kriz, Sr. and Sadie (Hall) Payne.

Merle was raised in Midwest City and graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1965. He lived in Oklahoma City, Houston, Texas, and Tribbey, OK before making his home in Moore, Oklahoma where he resided until recently moving back to Tribbey to live with his daughter.

He married Mary Kay Horning on February 17, 1966 at Sooner Baptist Church. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2010.

Merle proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as an E3 doing two tours in Vietnam serving on the USS Independence and USS America.

He worked for Kodak and Xerox as a repair technician for many years. Merle also owned his own construction company for many years.

Merle loved going to Lake Thunderbird and spending time on his boat. He also enjoyed helping troubled youth.

He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Kay Kriz; his parents; sister, Darlene Monroe; brothers, Robert Kriz, Rickey Kriz and George Kriz, Jr.; and great-grandson, Aaron James Hernandez.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kim and son-in-law, Tony Adams of Tribbey, OK and daughter, Kory Kriz and fiancé David Furr of Tecumseh, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Merle and Kate Kriz, II of Moore, OK; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends; and others that called him Pa Pa.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Butch Francis, Church of the Cross in Trousdale and Reverend Tony Peak, Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
