Mary Janett Buck, of Norman, OK, passed away August 22, 2018, at the age of 81. Mary was born September 28, 1936 in Pryor, OK, to Harrison James & Maxine Lucille (Crockett) Patterson. Mary graduated from Chouteau High School, Class of 1954, as Valedictorian of her class. She also attended the University of Oklahoma from 1954 1958 and received a degree in Business Education. Mary played the flute in the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. She met Dewey at OU and then they married on August 27, 1958. Mary retired from FAA in 2013 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed playing Duplicate Bridge where she earned Life Master. Mary was a Cub Scout Den Mother for her boys. She served in the PTA while her kids were in school. Mary took her boys to all of their Little League games. She was an avid OU football fan. Mary attended the home games well into her 70s. She loved Mexican food along with a Perfect Margarita. Her first love was spending time with her family and she loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by her husband, A. Dewey Buck, Jr.; 2 sons, Mike Buck & wife, Wendy, and Doug Buck; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Minnis & husband, Aaron, Jessica Harris & husband, Ryan, and Julie Jennings, & husband, Lee; 5 great-grandchildren, Olivia Harris, Colton Harris, Molly Jennings, Emersyn Jennings, and Sophia Minnis; 1 sister, Patti Graham & husband, Al; and brother-in-law, Dale Buck & wife, Janet; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, H.J. & Maxine Patterson. Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2018, at New Life Methodist Church, located at 1105 NW 27th Street, Moore, OK. Interment will be at 3:30 PM, At Chouteau North Cemetery, Chouteau, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
