Aunt Lawana was the sweetest person I knew. She always said I knew my own mind...which inspires me to this day! She had so many talents from decorating, design, creating the most beautiful works of art, and cooking - yet she was so humble at the same time. Soft spoken, yet always busy and determined. She could play a great game of Yahtzee too! She had an amazing marriage to an amazing man for over 60 years! How Lawana lived is an inspiration for all. Miss you and love you!

Bud and Lawana welcomed us as a young married couple into their home in 1967 and taught us how to play Bunco. As a new bride, she gave me her recipe for the best yeast rolls I had ever tasted. Many sweet memories of this lady.

I knew Lawana through the OU Art Museum docent program and membership in the Literary Discussion Group to which we both belonged. I grew to love Lawana more and more over the years we were friends. A warm, friendly person, she used her artistic skills to benefit others in many ways. I will miss her very very much.
