Lanny's Story

Lanny Allen Bates was born to Frank and Dorcie (Bastian) Bates on April 18, 1952 at Holdenville, Ok. He departed this life at the Purcell Municipal Hospital at the age of 64 years.
Lanny graduated from Byng High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. He received a Degree in Finance and Real Estate. He made his home in Noble moving from Norman in 1985. Lanny was employed with the Red Carpet Realty, Gundaker Realty, Re-Max before he began his own Company of Bates Realty and Country Wide Real Estate in Noble. Lanny loved Noble and was instrumental in helping Noble become a City. He was a part of the beginning of Chestnut Square, the Rose Rock Festival, the Chamber of Commerce that met at his Real Estate office for the first five years.
He enjoyed fishing, watching the Thunder Basketball and O.U. Football, but loving on his grandbabies came first. He liked to end his day by watching the sunset from his porch.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, 1 Brother Terry Bates. Those who survive him include his Son Landon Bates of Noble, his Daughter Audra Bates of Milwaukie, Oregan, Brother Roger Bates (Gayla) of Perkins, Ok., Companion Jan Giza, Grandchildren Bennett and Kohen, the Mother of his children Kathy Bates, numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins and other relatives and friends.
VISITATION HOURS: Monday, February 20th 4:00pm-7:00pm, McMahans Funeral Home.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30am Tuesday, February 21st, McMahans Funeral Home.
