Julia's Story

Julia Rojas, a longtime former resident of Norman, OK passed away on March 14, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. Originally from Agana, Guam she was a child in WWII when the Japanese occupied the island of Guam. She married Manuel Rojas who served in the USAF, and raised her family as they moved around the world including San Juan Puerto Rico, Seville Spain, and Tokyo Japan. After several more assignments, they eventually settled in Norman where Julia worked and retired from the University of Oklahoma in the College of Business. Julia and her husband were active members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband Manuel Rojas and survived by her children Christine (husband Tony) Apriceno of Charlotte, NC and Brian (wife Jill) Rojas of Houston, TX.
A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Norman on April 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
