One of Juanita's greatest joys was in the care of her great grandson, Jaxon Swafford. She initially moved from Shelby, Ohio, to Norman in July 2003 to help with the 3 month old baby while his mom worked. Mrs. Silva was a homemaker and would prepare tortillas every day for her large family. She loved shopping, playing bingo and traveling.
She loved her many trips and cruises to Mexico, the Caribbean and going to Disney World. She even enjoyed the ever changing weather in Oklahoma. If a tornado warning would sound, she would throw her bed covers over her head and say the tornado would have to find her first.
