Jerry Lee Kilgore

Jerry was born to Joe Lee Kilgore and Pauline Kilgore (Gulley) on August 28, 1938 at Rodessa, Louisiana. At a young age he moved with his family to Moore, Oklahoma area. He attended the Moore School System and graduated with the class of 1957. While in high school, Jerry was active in the FFA where he took an interest in feeding and showing market hogs. Shortly after high school, enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a Radio Relay and Carrier Operator.
Jerry always had a passion for horses and rodeo. He spent his early rodeo years competing as a calf roper and then later switched to team roping where he was a heeler. In 1960 Jerry and Ms. Anita Faye Goode were united in marriage. While rodeo was Jerry and Anita's life, Jerry also owned and operated Kilgore Machine and Tool Co. in Oklahoma City and Anita was a bookkeeper for Custer & Custer Livestock Commission Co.
Jerry and Anita moved from Moore to Lexington and built a home where they resided until their passing. Jerry was a very well known and respected man throughout his community and professions. He was always able to ensure a good laugh and smile with every encounter. Jerry was a loved father and always took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His mother, father, and wife preceded him in death. Jerry is survived by his daughter Jamie Kilgore of Oklahoma City, his son Kyle Kilgore and wife Paula of Lexington, grandchildren; Jason Felton and wife Krystal, Jenna Gillum and husband Josh, Justin Kilgore, and Shawn Kilgore, great-grandchildren; Easton Felton, Charlotte Gillum, Cori Lee Gillum, and numerous friends.
