Epifania "Annie"'s Story
Epifania "Annie" Oliveros Kay, 67, of Norman passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at Norman Regional Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born July 12, 1950 in Pasig, Rizal, Republic of the Philippines, to Juan Cruz Oliveros and Juanita Carpio. On June 19, 1976, she married James Paul Kay in Norman.
Annie was an expert gardener. All growing things under her care would bloom and thrive. Everyone was envious of her gift.
Her skills extended to the kitchen as well. Anything she prepared just tasted better, and her Filipino dishes were always in demand. No one ever left her home hungry.
While her children were growing up she was a stay-at-home mom, but one summer she found time to instruct at OU. A group of missionaries heading for the Philippines needed a tutor, and Annie volunteered. She was so proud of her students.
Later, with her children grown, she worked for Marriott at NCED in the banquet department. She found a new family of friends there whom she loved dearly.
Her smile was like a beam of happiness, and when she was tickled, her irresistible laughter could shake the room.
Left to cherish her memory are husband Paul of 41 years; children: Penni Kay-Cooter and husband Tim Cooter, Pamela Stewart and fiancé Steven Clouse, Patrick Kay and wife Traci Kay; grandchildren: Baylee Kay Soreghen and husband Keith Soreghen, Carson Stewart; father of her grandchildren: Teddy Stewart; as well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, October 10, at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel.
Arrangements entrusted to Primrose Funeral Service, Norman, OK. Sign the online guestbook at www.primrosefuneralservice.com.
