Emogene Jean's Story

Emogene Jean A. Gaffney, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 24th, 2017 in Windsor Wisconsin. She was born in Norman, Oklahoma on October 9th, 1930, the daughter of Eugene and Agnes Meiser. At the age of 23, she married Airmen First Class James R. Gaffney on June 24th, 1954 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Norman, OK. Jeans interests included gardening, sewing, quilting, and puzzles, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter Rita Sims, sons Jim (Barbara), Pat (Nona), and Eugene (Kari Olson); grandchildren Cindy (Kerry) Blakeslee, Tony Gaffney, Jenna Gaffney, Kristine (Cody) Erickson, Ryan (Ashley) Gaffney, Sara (David) Whitt, Kari Gaffney (fiancee Steve Heideman); great-grandchildren Dillan Sims and Kylie Gaffney. Also survived by one brother Charles (Barbara) Meiser, a brother-in-law Marlin Elkins, and a sister-in-law Marcy Meiser. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ernest Meiser, one sister Margaret Elkins, son William Gaffney, and grandson Frank Sims.

A celebration of Jeans life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 29th, 2017 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest WI. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
